Unstoppable Reality!

Be practical!
kaya...
when your suitor ask
what you want...
chocolate?
flowers?
stuff toy?
c'mmon!
be practical!
"BIGAS" gurl!
"BIGAS"!

The message was sent to me by a friend. It's just some kind of a joke when you just read it but pay attention to it, it speaks the reality here in the Philippines!

My gradparents and I usually go to the market every week to buy things(groceries, ketchen products, etc.) we need at home and my Lola's medicine. Now we do it twice a month. And if my aunt goes out to the market he(my lolo) would just send her money and she'll do the groceries for him so he could not waste money for the gasoline. And these past weeks I would often hear him saying: "mahal na ang bigas, mahal na gasolina, mahal na lahat! haaayyzz... wala na talaga!" My mother and aunties(guess the whole citizen of the Philippines) are also complaining with the prices of products in the market, specially the price of RICE!

1 kilo of rice today's worth PHP 42.00. Would you believe that?!...well, you need to, it's the fact!
When I was in high school, 1kilo of it just worth PHP20 something. I'm in my 4th year college now, and in just 4years, its price was doubled! phew!

I always believe Philippines has hope..but at this point of time, with these crises(political, economic, agricultural, societal) we're having right now...I don't know! I'll just wait for miracle I guess.

We are not rich and we are not that poor neither...and the over pricing in the market is really a BURDEN for us...how much more to those poor people, the poorest of the poor?! Do you think they will survive in a JUST way? I don't think so!

I guess the author of that texts just wants us to open our senses to the reality. We have to be concious on what is happening around us..and be ready to the unstoppable reality!

Text messages, specifically comic text messages, can sometimes be a cunning way of sending a brutally honest reality :)

Emo! nyahaha!

Hi thank you for the visit and the nice words... The prices all over the world have doubled over the last couple years... MY belief is it is because the rich want to stay rich or become richer...
Example: If (Red) must pay more to his employees then he is losing money ou of his gold fleeced pockets... (Red) Does not want to lose money, so how can he keep his pockets full? well simple pay more charge more... Rich stay rich and the poor stay poor... The world is the way it is and the prices are the way they are simply over GREED... and it is only my opinion... All people need to learn respect for each other and help each other... i dont mean some richy rich saying I gave to the poor this year and i gave then the can foods i would never eat... but its ok I can write it off on my taxes.... I mean true respect and give a helping hand with out wondering or expecting to get something in return...
when I help others it is simply because I want to and at the time the means to... I never expect anything in return.... But a thank you has always been my best reward...

Hello sis..
now lang napadaan, been a busy week..
Reality bites talaga..
As in mahal na lahat.. last month nung umuwi ako I was shocked.Ambilis mawala ng money, kabilis maubos.
Honestly di lang sa pinas tumaas eh, kahit dito din.. pero the difference lang ay lang tax dito - and the petrol is very cheap - mas expensive pa ang tubig.
Nice post sis.. :]

hay we are the same, we have to go back and forth the grocery shop just to buy necessities! before it was just once a month and 5K is enough, now it doesn't look like you can get anywhere with it! so sad

Oh my God Weng! My aunt just emailed that it's 80 a kilo! I could never believe coz when I left, it was around 55-60...ang laki ng itinaas!

I am writing about global sustainability as part of my paid work weeks back and from the analysis, the world cannot really sustain itself. It's gonna be survival of the fittest soon... and una gid siguro papas ang Pinoy man tam-an gid ka pigdo dira.
